Saint Jeanne De Lestonnac School: Field of Dreams

Field of Dreams Dugout Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. contracted with Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School to build dugouts and a restroom/storage structure at their synthetic turf sports field project, Field of Dreams.

All four of the dugouts and the restroom/storage facility received a Custom-Bilt Metals, standing-seam metal roof in Regal Blue, a complementary color to the bright green synthetic turf. A glass block wall adds natural light to the north end of the storage room which houses specialized maintenance equipment for the field. As a finishing touch, all exposed roof-framing elements were painted to match.

We have had several jobs done at our school and convent in Tustin by this company… We have been pleased with their work, as well as their professional approach to the process from bidding the job to completing it. ~ Sister Mary Salud Estrada, O.D.N.

The school colors were carried throughout the design of the restrooms which had french blue phenolic toilet partitions and ceramic tile floors and wainscoting. Electronic, sensor-controlled flush valves, stainless steel sinks, and water closets were installed as well as automatic hand dryers and motion-sensor controlled lighting. Just outside of the restrooms, a set of handicap-accessible drinking fountains are an oasis for thirsty athletes and spectators alike.

All structures, including the 16″ grotto planter, free-standing masonry wall for privacy, and pilasters at the entry gate, were built with split-face CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) technology, both durable and functional, with an attractive pattern. To protect the beauty of the masonry, each structure was finished with an anti-graffiti coating.

Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. was pleased to participate in this worthwhile project that is a functional, yet attractive, part of our community.

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac New Day Care Facility

Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. contracted with Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School to construct a 4,200 square foot masonry and wood-framed/stucco Day Care Facility at the southeast corner of the Field of Dreams.

“We have had several jobs done at our school and convent in Tustin and have been pleased with their work, as well as their professional approach to the process from bidding the job to completing it.” Sister Mary Salud Estrada, O.D.N. – The Sisters of The Company of Mary

The daycare structure was built with split-face CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) technology, both durable and functional, with an attractive pattern to match the existing dugout structures. The exterior wood-framed walls and parapet walls were finished with traditional plaster. To protect the beauty of the building, the masonry and plaster were both finished with an anti-graffiti coating.

Custom cabinets in natural birch laminate with french blue countertops and maple hardwood trim are featured throughout this project. Cubby holes in white melamine, cabinets for teacher supplies, and small stainless sinks adorn each classroom. Three custom storage closets with bookcases make managing supplies a snap. In addition, the snack room, adjacent to the office, has a walk-up window covered with one of three fire-retardant awnings that match the building’s color scheme.

Carnoustie Sportswear

Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. was contracted as the Design-Builder to completely renovate this building located within the Irvine Business Complex both inside and out. The building had not been updated since its conception back in the early 1970’s.

The exterior renovation included adding a stacked stone pop-out entry element with an aluminum-banded eyebrow and matching linear metal soffit to give the entry an updated look. The old, dark bronze aluminum center-glazed storefront system was replaced with new front-glazed, vertical silicone butt-jointed storefront with horizontal banding and medium performance green glazing.

This storefront theme was carried into the interior office walls to maximize natural light in the open office areas from the exterior. Additional windows were added on both the south and west elevations for additional light into the building.

The landscaping and irrigation was completely replaced. In addition, the building was given both a new roof and 17-1/2 tons of new HVAC equipment.

The interior was completely gutted of its original offices and approximately 4,500 SF of new office improvements were added. Ceilings were placed at 12’ and 14’ above finished floor to give the office an open feeling and indirect/direct lighting installed.

The lobby, which includes plenty of stone and tile as well as mahogany laminate wall paneling, has, with aluminum banding, carried into the building the sleek, minimalist linear style that adorns the exterior storefront.

We are proud of this stylish, up-to-date facility.

Exterior Renovation at Affordable Portables

losfeliz_beforeafter

Before: note the lack of windows, the previous façade, picket fence behind the building, and grass at the parkway.

Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. is proud to announce the completion of the exterior upgrade to this AT&T Store franchise operated by Affordable Portables located at 2900 Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA.

Not only did the renovation include a new four-ply built-up roof with Title 24 compliant, energy-saving cap sheet, but this building received cosmetic surgery with new wall furring, stucco, cornice moldings, and red brick veneer at the built-up façade extensions topped off with custom-fabric awnings.

Custom paint highlights architectural details, as does 1,035 square feet of thin brick veneer, all of which was finished with anti-graffiti coating. Even the city parkway was beautified with Acker-Stone Interlocking Pavers.

Three new display windows were recessed to highlight product, giving this retail building even more exposure to street and pedestrian traffic.

The before and after shots tell it all.

Renovate 22 Restrooms for TAIS

TAIS-beforeafter

“The reality is that public restrooms matter to the public. The way a business or building treats its facilities is a reflection of its operating standards.”

www.bestrestrooms.com

Riggins Construction & Management, Inc. was contracted to renovate and upgrade twenty-two existing multi-fixture restrooms for Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.

Restrooms present unique design challenges as they are often neglected, yet are frequently affected by changes in the building code. As a design-build contractor, we were able to work directly with the architect to ensure that every need of the client was met.

We are always pleased to not only meet the client’s deadline, using a three-phase restroom renovation schedule which facilitated the continuance of the daily business operation, but to provide an aesthetically-pleasing finished product.
